"The Motherland on the top" of the Dominican roots.

On this occasion, more than 100 participants from various parts of the country gathered in Faro to try their luck in the contest that won Adalberto Gonzalez, Edison Fernandez, Vanessa Fernandez, Lawrence Wagner, Angelo Sanchez and Yunior Manuel Restituyo.

This is the fourth version of the competition dedicated to promoting the patriotic values, the first version was dedicated to peace, second and third youth to Christopher Columbus. The esplanade north of the Columbus Lighthouse dressed gala to leave the door open to the fourth version of the contest of kites that makes this monument, and that on this occasion was called "La Patria por lo alto" and whose main objective is to promote patriotic values and roots of the Dominican.

The governor of Faro and one of the mentors of the activity, Andy Mieses, said that with the contest seeks to promote culture through a kite well as strengthening spirituality and creativity of all Dominicans and Dominican by a healthy recreation that has no limit, because in the event brings together children and adults of all ages.

Mieses said that all participants must have kites, basic requirement as a message allusive to the Fatherland. "I am very pleased with the activity because I learned a lot about the patriotic values and I know many friends with different kites to mine," said Emmanuel Rosario Herrera 12 years.

In activity were observed kites of all colors and the vast majority with messages alluding to the Fatherland, "Be fair, the first thing if you will be happy", "Live the fatherland", "Living without Motherland is the same as live without honor ", Are among the many messages showing the kites exposed at the site.
