The secretary of Tourism, Felix Jimenez, reported that in four months begin the studies for the construction of two lifts, one from Pico Diego de Ocampo until Jacagua and another in Jarabacoa to El Mogote. In addition, construction of a road those tourists travel to the Central Cordillera, a work that will have an investment of US$250 million.
Jimenez said that first launched the environmental impact studies, conducted by the Ministry of Environment, to give the works to construction companies by public tender, and that this has endorsement IDB and the World Bank.
However, said that work would begin when the Congress approved the National Institute for Tourism Development (Indetur), will be assured that the only entity that will have resources to build the road Puerto Plata-Montecristi and Monción of San Jose de las Matas , Janice Juncalito, Jarabacoa and Constanza to San Jose de Ocoa.
