CEITUR invests RD $ 2.900 mm. in tourist areas in 2004-2008

From 2004 to date, the Committee for Infrastructure Development Bank of Tourist Zones (Ceiztur) has invested RD $ 64 million in 2,883,085,892.06 works built in the tourist areas in the Dominican Republic.

The construction works have been developed in consensus with the private sector and benefit the tourism, but also the environment and communities. The fact that 47% of this amount (RD $ 1,357,887,619.83 million) relates to the construction of sanitary sewers. The lifting of aqueducts, housing estates and housing projects have been invested RD $ 331,750,099.37 million. Of this figure, RD $ 349, 937.91 million were earmarked for construction of aqueducts, in Luperon, Sosua and Puerto Plata.

Other items were recipients of this investment beach regeneration, RD $ 685,708,848.53 million; roads, RD $ 308,580,876.74 million; streets, sidewalks and content (RD $ 73,042,328 million); contributions to community works and tourism (RD $ 46,156,237.82 million); studies for other projects (RD $ 54,358,997.29 million) and several works RD $ 25,600,884.48 million.

Among the major works of this quadrennial are complex housing the Villa Liberation, in Sosua, Puerto Plata, which was allocated RD $ 296,756,308.37 million, sanitary sewer system south and southeast of Puerto Plata (RD $ 442,509,977.09 million); treatment plant and network health of Cabarete (RD $ 425,026,192.80), The treatment plant earth, Samana (RD $ 213,561,383.00 million) and roads Cruz del Islander in Macao, Higuey, and San Marcos - Cable, PP,
RD $ 174,230,231.26 and RD $ 117,692,224.57 million, respectively.

The investments of Ceiztur, who heads Jose Aponte and chairs the holder of Sectur, Felix Jimenez, are part of the Plan and Tourism Competitiveness Programs of Tourist Zones implemented to improve tourism in the country.
