Tourism is one point that connects large sectors of the economy.

The tourism sector has become the largest generator of foreign exchange in the country. Year after year it has been increasing the number of people who prefer to spend their vacation in the Dominican Republic, reaching over two and a half million visitors in 2000.

During the past five years spending on pleasure trips have grown steadily, especially in developing countries, where it provides a steady increase over the next decade. The Dominican Republic is among one of the most famous and beautiful tourist destinations in the world. Over the past five years the number of tourists it receives each year the island has increased importantly.

Tourism is one of the most important sectors of the Dominican economy, because this makes great contributions to this. The movements involve expenditure, especially when it's from one country to another, that's our case, foreign tourists usually consumed in dollars or exchange their currency for ours, this creates an injection of dollars into our economy and so the country can buy services and products not produced.

Tourism is an issue that is part of the life of the Dominican because of this depends much as the economic situation and its way of life, also because foreign tourists are the best cover letter ahead of other countries. We need to be involved with everything related activity, you have to be at the forefront of words and terms used in the area because in this way is this helping the country in its development as tourist image.

The importance of tourism is because it is a point that connects large sectors of the economy. It is a broad concept that embraces percent of areas, which in turn covers hundreds, making this way, that the market goes toward limits increasingly distant. Speaking of tourism is not just to mention hotels and excursions characteristics of each destination.

Tourism also covers plane tickets, rent a car, restaurants, handicrafts, to places of recreation, especially real estate investments and as many more. Foreign investment is also growing in the hotel companies.

The vision of the future of tourism in the Dominican Republic is of such strength that has been set up training schools in Hospitality and Tourism, as in the east, in the destinies of Bavaro, Punta Cana and Macao, as well as the Polo Tourism Barahona, in the areas of Puerto Plata, Sosua and Cabarete.
