Sosúa is one of the most popular coastal towns in the Dominican Republic and is located 10 km east of Puerto Plata, the capital of the same province on the northern coast of the Landes. Sosúa lies on a beautiful beach cove, the place in which the two quarters El Batey and Los Charamicos shares.
This splendid 1 km long beach is one of the main attractions. EL Batey lies on the eastern side of the bay, with its many hotels, bars, restaurants, schools, shops, etc. the main tourist area. Here you can enjoy coffee or drink during the day to the many street cafes or stroll to the many restaurants, bars and discos during the nights.

How to get to Sosúa?
Most tourists fly to Puerto Plata (Gregorio Luperón) airport. From here it's only ten minutes after Sosúa. Or the capital Santo Domingo fly (Las Americas), then it takes about 3-4 hours by taxi or bus to get to Sosúa. However, if you have to Santiago (Cibao), fly, then the trip only takes about 90 minutes. Caribe Tours Tours and Metro offer bus tours scheduled between Santo Domingo, Santiago, Puerto Plata and Sosua.
And once you are in Sosúa?
In Sosúa almost everything is within walking distance - from the rich variety of shops in the city centre to the Beach. Also can be found on almost every street corner "Moto-onchos" (motorcycle taxis), is happy to see you for a reasonable price by the City.
