More than a million tourists visit the Dominican Republic
In the first quarter of this year entered the country 1,114,313 tourists, 8% more than the same period of 2007, being the United States, Canada and South America markets issuers recorded higher growth during this period with a 10.9% and 36.6 %, respectively.
While last March foreign tourist arrivals grew 5.9% in relation to 2007, highlighting the arrival of tourists from the United States and Canada with 9% and 7.4%, faster than in 2007.
The State Secretary of Tourism, Felix Jimenez, cited Russia as one of the new issuers of tourists recorded higher growth which has doubled since Mexico which grew 12%.
