There are other points worth knowing in the area of the lake, such as the wellspring of “Lemon Valley”, “Azufrada” and “Caritas.” At shores of the lake can be reached by vehicles, while the Isle Cabritos and other access points can be reached by boat.

Lake Enriquillo is a place that has a set of natural elements. Within the stunning wildlife that is in place highlights the presence of crocodiles, particularly in the area of freshwater “Borbollones”. There is also a large number of iguanas, and exotic birds like the Flemish and the heron. It is believed that this lake is the residue of a canal linking the Bay of Neiba with Golgo of Leogane in Haíti. His name is in honor of the Indian chieftain who Enriquillo during the XVI century raised up against the Spaniards. The transport to reach the lake can be by public or private transport from Santo Domingo or anywhere in the country.
